Confidential algorithm for the approximate graph vertex covering problem is presented in this article. It can preserve privacy of data at every stage of the computation, which is very important in context of cloud computing. Security of~our solution is based on fully homomorphic encryption scheme. The time complexity and the security aspects of considered algorithm are described

The article is devoted to generation techniques of thenew public key crypto-systems, which are based on applicationof indistinguishability obfuscation methods to selected privatekey crypto-systems. The techniques are applied to symmetrickey crypto-system and the target system is asymmetric one.As an input for our approach an implementation of symmetricblock cipher with a given private-key is considered. Differentobfuscation methods are subjected to processing. The targetsystem would be treated as a public-key for newly createdpublic crypto-system. The approach seems to be interestingfrom theoretical point of view. Moreover, it can be useful forinformation protection in a cloud-computing model

Distinct Modulation of Spontaneous and GABA-Evoked Gating by Flurazepam Shapes Cross-Talk Between Agonist-Free and Liganded GABAA Receptor Activity

GABAA receptors (GABAARs) play a crucial inhibitory role in the CNS. Benzodiazepines (BDZs) are positive modulators of specific subtypes of GABAARs, but the underlying mechanism remains obscure. Early studies demonstrated the major impact of BDZs on binding and more recent investigations indicated gating, but it is unclear which transitions are affected. Moreover, the upregulation of GABAAR spontaneous activity by BDZs indicates their impact on receptor gating but the underlying mechanisms remain unknown. Herein, we investigated the effect of a BDZ (flurazepam) on the spontaneous and GABA-induced activity for wild-type (WT, α1β2γ2) and mutated (at the orthosteric binding site α1F64) GABAARs. Surprisingly, in spite of the localization at the binding site, these mutations increased the spontaneous activity. Flurazepam (FLU) upregulated this activity for mutants and WT receptors to a similar extent by affecting opening/closing transitions. Spontaneous activity affected GABA-evoked currents and is manifested as an overshoot after agonist removal that depended on the modulation by BDZs. We explain the mechanism of this phenomenon as a cross-desensitization of ligand-activated and spontaneously active receptors. Moreover, due to spontaneous activity, FLU-pretreatment and co-application (agonist + FLU) protocols yielded distinct results. We provide also the first evidence that GABAAR may enter the desensitized state in the absence of GABA in a FLU-dependent manner. Based on our data and model simulations, we propose that FLU affects agonist-induced gating by modifying primarily preactivation and desensitization. We conclude that the mechanisms of modulation of spontaneous and ligand-activated GABAAR activity concerns gating but distinct transitions are affected in spontaneous and agonist-evoked activity

Architecture of Wireless Vehicle Weight Measurement System for Structural Health Monitoring in Civil Engineering Application

    No full text
The following paper describes architecture of the Wireless Vehicle Weight Measurement System (WVWMS). The challenge was to design a road scale system enabling multipoint vehicle weight with the single network sink. The proposed platform is capable of weight measurement based on electrical strain gauge weight pads and in-node data processing. Communication is wireless, with mesh networking. The developed vehicle weight measurement is one of subsystems applied in the TULCOEMPA project. It is required to cooperate with Structural Health Monitoring and Truck Recognition Systems. Due to the absence of mains line, all installations are powered by Hybrid Power System. The authors propose Energy Harvesting Controller cooperating with both solar panels and wind generators. The controller enables efficient energy harvesting from both power sources as well as monitoring of generated and consumed power levels. Next challenge was a design of vehicle weight data acquisition software architecture. The solution includes application of modern architectural concepts in software design, Representational State Transfer (REST), Model-View-View Model (MVVM) paradigm, and cloud computing. Communication between vehicle weight measurement modules and server application is described
